GLOW WINTER ARTS FESTIVAL 2014

In 2014, we launched the first ever Glow Winter Arts Festival. With 50 events over 11 days, the Festival embraced the many artistic communities of Stonnington through glowing art installations, comedy shows, live performances, art exhibitions, outdoor movie screenings and night markets.

Exxopolis Luminarium, a giant inflatable glowing sculpture, took up residence on Jam Factory’s rooftop, enticing people to explore its brightly lit domes and tunnels. Live entertainment included an incredible line-up of comedy heroes such as Colin Lane, Tommy Little, Lawrence Mooney and Em Rusciano. Theatre buffs could book tickets for The Fantastic Mr Fox starring Bobby Fox from Jersey Boys the musical, The Trip featuring the comedy due Damian Callinan and Gavin Baskerville, and The Rhythm Spectacular: The Music of Beyonce. Private galleries and studios across Stonnington hosted a diverse program of curated art exhibitions spanning mediums such as print, photography, textiles and glass art. Stonnington landmarks like Malvern Town Hall, Jam Factory, Kings Arcade and Toorak Library put on displays by leading glass artists. Festival goers gained free entry to Flicks ‘n’ Feasts, a collaboration between Time Out Melbourne and Prahran Market which transformed the latter into an outdoor cinema and night market.
